Now for the first time, DMM Solutions uses Microsoft Windows Installer packages, or so called MSI package to deploy DMM applications and all necessary files to customer workstations. This will simplify all deployment and ensure the quality of installations and patches. MSI packages are designed for easy application deployment, when it comes to deploying to large companies there are tools available that can deploy MSI to multiple computers automatically. When installing the DMM application to many computers, there are several ways to make things easier. Tools such as Microsoft Active Dir-ectory, Microsoft System Management Server, Novell ZENworks or login script can be used to automate the process. These packages can be deployed without any user input, because all configurations can be done in advance. Landsvirkjun was the first DMM customer to deploy DMM software this way. Landsvirkjun’s IT specialists used Microsoft Active Directory to distribute the solution to their workstations.
